bar cart suggestions (emily takeover)

Today I want to talk bar carts. Not specifically about the physical cart, although remember when everyone had those brass-finished ones? Ours is a medical cart from Maine Medical Center we bought off Facebook Marketplace from a man in a Fedora in the Famous Dave’s BBQ parking lot.
I wanted to talk about building your cart a.k.a. what goes on it. I think people get really tripped up about making cocktails at home because they want to replicate the ~genepi-and-vodka-cocktail-with-candied-kumquat~ they love from their favorite restaurant. That makes it seem like you need 20 different bottles of alcohol which, when purchased together, is pretty steep. I think of cocktails to make at home in two categories: One is the classic cocktail–the Martini, Manhattan, Negroni–that requires a few different kinds of alcohol. The other is the off-the-cuff, casual and fun cocktail, which is made with one kind of spirit and is zhuzhed up with its addition of (cheap!) mixers.
